Specification
Expanded Metal fencing has many different specifications but by far the most popular two, in our experience, are 4095 mesh and 2089. Both of these mesh types are available in various different heights. 4095 mesh is the more standard and generally used mesh type and can be a competitive alternative to steel palisade. 2089 is a smaller mesh size making it more secure and harder to climb. Due to its construction with the panels clamped to three rails, for a 1.8m high fence, and in turn those rails bolted to the posts. The panels are also secured to the front of the posts using a clamp strip and security nuts and bolts meaning getting through the fence would take a lot of time and industrial equipment.
London Underground Security
Collinson Fencing has worked on many contracts over many years for London Underground Limited and Expanded Metal fencing has emerged as their security fence of choice. LUL usually use the 4095 mesh system with a cranked extension to take three rows of barbed wire. A galvanised finish has usually been the finish of choice but in more recent years they have been erecting more polyester powder coated fencing in residential areas.
